Olive harvest weeks
Real summer crowds are yet to come, but we already think half a year ahead: the traditional olive harvest in Greece. Families are preparing, with the itinerant farm workers, for this annual phenomenon. The time of a pleasant warmth, beautiful autumn light, plenty of life and labor in the olive groves. The olive harvest is in full swing.
But also the sea is nice and warm. Delicious temperatures to make beautiful walks or bike rides. The big crowds in the villages, at museums and various antiquities is over. Time to to experience the many impressions on due tempo.
We offer you this unique experience of olive picking as a week-package (excl. flight and transport).
The olive-picking arrangement is as follows:
- 7 nights stay at one of our caravans (based on shared accommodation)
- daily breakfast
- 3 days olive picking with the help of an experienced (English-language) olive picker
- coffee, tea and snack in the olive grove (on harvest days)
- lunch in the olive grove (on harvest days)
- dinner at Hakuna Matata Holidays (on harvest days)
- visit to an olive pressing plant
- Olive and olive oil tasting
- 2 litres of olive oil of the self-picked olives
- 1 day excursion to olive oil museum in Sparta, incl. lunch and dinner
The olive harvest weeks will take place from October 25th to November 1st 2019
and from november 1st to november 8th.
