These general conditions apply to a temporary lease between Hakuna Matata Holidays and tenant of a wooden lodge.
Hakuna Matata Holidays offers you accommodation as wooden lodge. There are 2 lodges on our olive grove, each suitable for a stay of 6 people.
Lodge Agalia has 3 bedrooms, 1 with a comfortable double bed and 2 small rooms with bunk beds.
Lodge Calida has 1 bedroom with a comfortable double bed, 1 bedroom with 2 separate single beds. In the living room, a comfortable sofa bed can be fixed and used if desired.
The lodges are equipped with full air conditioning and heating, shower, sink and toilet. Each lodge has a cozy seating area. On the veranda the outdoor kitchen is situated, a dining table and a lounge corner. Hammocks are in the olive trees. Behind the house of Hakuna Matata Holidays is the swimming pool of 8m x 4m x 1.5 m with Jetstream. There are parking spaces in the olive grove. Hakuna Matata Holidays ensures that the accommodations and all facilities are in optimal condition and are safe for appropriate use. Stay at Hakuna Matata Holidays is entirely at your own risk.
Reservation, booking and payment of the rental of the lodges.
After you have booked, you will receive a confirmation, rental agreement and the overview of costs. After prepayment of 50% of the total rent for the accommodation, the booking is final and the lodge is reserved for the relevant period. After receiving the deposit of (50%) of the rent, the tenant receives a confirmation by mail. The rest of the amount must be transferred no later than 1 month before the start of the rental period unless otherwise agreed.
We are in favor of maintaining a cash system. You therefor can choose to pay part of the rent in cash upon arrival.
Payment by bank, pin is not possible.
When paying by bank, the day of crediting on the bank account of Hakuna Matata Holidays counts as payment day. The payments must be transferred to :

Other, additional facilities such as a boat trip, breakfast and fresh-bread-service are paid in cash.
In case of a ‘last minute’ booking (within 1 month until arrival), the full rent for the accommodation must be transferred directly to the bank account of Hakuna Matata Holidays.
Liability tenant
Upon arrival in the lodge, we advise you to inspect the accommodation and the immediate surroundings for any unsafe situations. If in, your opinion, there is an unsafe situation, notify Hakuna Matata Holidays immediately. You give Hakuna Matata Holidays reasonable time to put the situation in order.
We expect the tenant and his company to approach the lodge with accessories, the facilities on the property and the other guests with respect for people, animals and materials.
When leaving the Hakuna Matata Holidays premises, even for a short time, the lodge must be completely closed and locked. In the event of theft or loss as a result of non-compliance with this, the renter will be held liable for the entire damage. The tenant is liable for all damage or loss to the lodge and terrace, inventory and / or furniture, which were created during the rental period by him or his co-tenant(s). This will be paid by the tenant and / or the liability insurance of the tenant on behalf of the tenant. The lessee must therefore take care of appropriate liability insurance.
The tenant is obliged to grant access to the landlord to the lodge and surroundings for necessary repairs and maintenance. The swimming pool is checked for the quality of the swimming pool water at least twice a week during high season.
Stay in the lodge
The wooden lodges of Hakuna Matata Holidays are available for rent throughout the year. On the day of arrival, the caravan can normally be used after 4 pm. On the day of departure, the caravan must be vacated no later than 10 am, left clean and tidy.
The lodge must be left in the following condition:
► Broom clean
► Washed dishes, cutlery and glasses clean, dried and put back in the cupboards
► Garbage bags and other waste disposed in the municipal containers, to be found along the public roads
► All bedlinen removed, linen and any quilts, folded at the foot end of the bed
► Fridge empty and clean
In consultation with Hakuna Matata Holidays other arrival and departure times are possible.
The lodge can be occupied by six people. In consultation with Hakuna Matata Holidays it is possible to place a small tent on the site. If it turns out that, without consultation, there are more residents than agreed, Hakuna Matata Holidays has the right to deny the tenant access or to charge € 50.00 per person per day.
It is not permitted to bring pets. Assistance dogs are allowed but please mention when booking.
Renting the lodge includes linen, kitchen, bath linen and pool towels. The tenant must bring towels for the beach. It is not allowed to bring linen outside the lodge. Furniture must also remain in the lodge.
The caravans are non-smoking. Smoking is allowed outside on the terrace. Outside, no open fire may be used !!!
Deposit
Recently we decided not to charge a deposit in case of breakage or other damage anymore. We trust that we can make good arrangements in the event of damage to our belongings.
Cancellation
Hakuna Matata Holidays can cancel the booking due to serious circumstances. The owner will immediately inform the tenant of this and pay back the already paid rent within 5 working days. Hakuna Matata Holidays is not obliged to offer renter compensation. However, Hakuna Matata Holidays will endeavour to find an alternative for the tenant.
Hakuna Matata Holidays can terminate or change the tenancy agreement in the following cases:
a. in the event of non-payment of the rent by the tenant.
b. force majeure, war, strike, natural disaster, extraordinary weather conditions, fire, death of (one of) the owners of Hakuna Matata Holidays or their close family. All amounts paid by the tenant for unexpired overnight stays will be returned to the tenant within 30 days of termination.
c. Due to circumstances that are of such a nature that renting of the lodge becomes impossible such as: theft of inventory, vandalism to the lodge.
Cancellation by the tenant must always be done in writing, by mail. The following rules apply: Payments will not be returned in the event of cancellation. We advise you to take out cancellation insurance with your bank or insurer. In case of cancellation up to 1 month before the day of arrival, 50% of the rent will be charged. In case of cancellation from 1 month to the day of arrival, 100% of the rent is due. Tenant must take care of an appropriate cancellation insurance.
In the event of cancellation due to travel bans issued by the government, we will refund amounts already paid, subject to € 35.00 administration costs.
Liability and right
Hakuna Matata Holidays accepts no liability for:
a. theft, loss or damage to the tenant during or as a result of the rental of and the stay in the lodge.
b. disabling of technical equipment in the lodge, temporary breakdown or malfunctions of water and / or energy management, road and / or construction work in the vicinity of the lodge.
c. damage or injury resulting from the use of the lodge, inventory included, or accidents in the olive grove, the terrain of Hakuna Matata Holidays. The tenant is jointly and severally liable for all loss and / or damage to the rented property and its inventory, irrespective of whether this is the result of acts or omissions of the tenant or third parties that are in or around the lodge with the permission of the tenant. In case of improper use or incorrect leaving of the lodge, the costs will be passed on to the tenant.
Hakuna Matata Holidays has the perspective that they do as much as possible to offer all family members a nice relaxing holiday. We would like to do this in consultation with you, our guest. We try to arrange what you need. Hakuna Matata Holidays will endeavour to provide correct information to the tenant, but is not liable for unexpected inaccuracies and / or omissions in the information provided.
Complaints
All complaints relating to the use of the lodge must be submitted directly to Hakuna Matata Holidays by the tenant. The tenant will give Hakuna Matata Holidays sufficient opportunity and cooperation to remedy the complaint within a reasonable time. If the complaint cannot be resolved satisfactorily, it must be submitted in writing and motivated by the tenant to Hakuna Matata Holidays. Complaints can be lodged no later than 30 days after the end of the stay in the caravan.
