The Ironman event
On april 14, in the direct vicinity of the luxurious Costa Navarino Resort, the Ironman event is held. Athletes from all over Europe and beyond took part in a half triathlon in the beautiful scenery of Messinia. After 1.9 km swimming in the pretty turbulent sea, directly in front of the resort, followed an approx. 90 km long bike ride in the direction of Soulinari, ending with a half marathon to Voïdokilia and surroundings.
Many athletes, supporters and spectators visited this area for the first time and many were pleasantly surprised. Similarly our Spanish guests, 5 in number. The 3 men of the company took part in the triathlon. 1 of them even got 2nd of his age category and has qualified himself for the Ironman World Championships in september in Nice, France. One of the days that they were our guest we made them a giant stack of pancakes for breakfast, probably those contributed to this great result!
Costa Navarino is organizing the Ironman Event for another 2 years!
