Start of our season

Although the Spanish guests for the Ironman event were the real first guests, our season really took off with a family from Brabant in the Netherlands. They were here in the Dutch May-holiday because their 13-year-old son also came along. They had a wonderful holiday and have left very laudatory words, both in our physical and digital guestbook. Because the son liked to pick oranges we asked a befriended Greek if we were allowed to pick them in his Orange Grove. And that was okay!

Except oranges, we also found mandarins, lemons and delicious grapefruits. And we discovered that the orange trees where we took the fruits of, had blossoms again for the next crop. The family enjoyed their complete holiday of delicious freshly squeezed orange juice for breakfast!
They also have been on a walk with the Freewalkers and a boat trip with Jan, where they even went swimming in sea, 180C was the temperture of the water! Brrrrrr! At the boat trip they’ve even seen a sea turtle!
They celebrated Greek Easter with us and joined the party of the anniversary of the seabattle of Methoni 194 years ago. Complete with fireworks, the fire lightning of a ‘ hostile ‘ boat and really loud gun shots. Fantastic to experience with all the villagers.
Naturally, the family made some trips themselves; the waterfalls at Kazarma, they visited Finikounda, Methoni and Pylos and Voïdokilia beach with the old Frankish Castle. There was still so much they wanted to see, the plans for the next holiday at our small paradise soon appeared! Thats what we love to hear of course!
